Jason O’Mara is a name that Batman movie fans will recognise. Since 2014 the actor has been providing a voice to the Caped Crusader in a succession of animated films, gaining praise and a following in the process.
But who is Jason O’Mara and what Batman films has he been involved with?
In this post, I will highlight all of the Batman animated movies that have featured Jason O’Mara, listing them in order of appearance. I will also provide a little background to the actor.
DC Universe Animated Original Movies
In 2007, Warner Bros. launched a series of animated films based around DC Comics characters. Conceived as direct-to-video releases, the DC Universe Animated Original Movies featured some of the most iconic heroes in the DC portfolio, including Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
From the very beginning, the movies attracted an impressive array of vocal talent, including many actors who had voiced DC heroes in previous animated shows and films. The series also created an opportunity to introduce new vocal talent into DC animated movies, including Jason O’Mara.
O’Mara’s first animated DC feature was 2014’s Justice League: War, where he took on the part of Batman. The actor proved popular in the role and was given the opportunity to reprise the role for Son of Batman, which was released the same year.
In 2015, O’Mara played Batman again for Justice League: Throne of Atlantis and Batman vs. Robin. He did double duties once more in 2016, voicing the Dark Knight for Batman: Bad Blood and Justice League vs. Teen Titans.
From here onward, O’Mara appeared in Justice League Dark (2017), The Death of Superman (2018), and Reign of the Superman (2019). The actor also took on the role of Batman for the critically acclaimed feature, Batman: Hush (2019).
Each new movie gave O’Mara the opportunity to expand the role of Batman in DC movies, and further establish himself as the voice of the Caped Crusader.

Who is Jason O’Mara?
So, those are the Batman films which star Jason O’Mara, but who is Jason O’Mara?
Irish born actor, Jason O’Mara has had a successful career in both film and television, having appeared in countless productions dating back to 1995. O’Mara’s portfolio includes US and UK projects, ranging from The Bill, Peak Practice and Band of Brothers to Vegas, CSI: Miami and Criminal Minds.
In 2007, O’Mara appeared in Resident Evil: Extinction and between 2013 and 2014 the actor had a stint in The Good Wife playing the role of Damian Boyle.
Genre fans will recognise O’Mara for parts in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Terra Nova. O’Mara has also featured in The Man in the High Castle, taking on the role of Wyatt Price.
In the role of Batman, O’Mara has had the opportunity to explore the Dark Knight across a collection of movies – sometimes as the lead and sometimes as part of an ensemble. Speaking to Comicbookmovie.com in August 2019, about playing the role of Batman, O’Mara said:
“It’s an absolute honour and privilege to be asked back every time I do get asked. I don’t know if it puts me in any sort of pantheon and I don’t really look at it that way.”
He added: “You wear the Bat symbol for a short amount of time and all you can really hope to do is leave it in a slightly better place than where you found it and that’s it. You move on and so any opportunity you get, you just do the best work that you can and it’s up for others to decide whether it’s any good or not.”
The fans have spoken – O’Mara is a great Batman and a fine addition to the list of strong Batman voice actors.
