In 2008, Batman: The Brave and the Bold hit television screens. The animated show, loosely based on a DC Comic which focused on superhero ‘team-ups’, was bright, colourful, and a heck of a lot of fun.

Unlike more recent Batman cartoons of the time, which were dark and brooding (Batman: The Animated Series, The Batman, Batman Beyond), Batman: The Brave and the Bold was a more light-hearted show. It told stories from the Silver Age of comics (1950s, 1960s etc), and featured larger than life characters and plenty of laughs.

Movie

In addition to three seasons of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, the show also spawned a direct-to-video feature film which made its debut in 2018 – seven years after the show ended on TV.

Throughout the three seasons of the show, Batman: The Brave and the Bold boasted an impressive cast of names, playing the various heroes who appeared in the series. The names included Diedrich Bader, Jeff Bennett, Corey Burton, John DiMaggio, Will Friedle, Tom Kenny, James Arnold Taylor, Kevin Conroy, Clancy Brown, Julie Newmar, Mark Hamill, Neil Patrick Harris, Loren Lester, Matthew Lillard, David McCallum, Phil Morris, Dee Bradley Baker, Pat Musick, Tara Strong, and ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, amongst many others.
