In 2019, comic book horror show, Swamp Thing, landed onto the (now defunct) streaming service, DC Universe. The series – about a plant-like creature who fights malevolent forces – was based on the DC Comics character of the same name, with Derek Mears playing the title role.
Although Swamp Thing demonstrated a great deal of promise, and the showrunners expected it to run and run, Warner Bros./DC Entertainment announced Swamp Thing’s sudden cancelation shortly after its premiere. No definitive reason was given for the show’s demise, but budget cuts, a reduction in episodes, and issues surrounding the restructuring of the DC Universe streaming platform were cited.
As such, Swamp Thing had a very brief run on streaming. This brief run lasted just ten episodes in total.
But if you missed the series the first time around, or you haven’t checked it out in a while, then you may wish to hunt it down to give it a watch. You may also need a handy episode list to follow – just like the one set out below.
